Can You Befriend God Haters?

In the article, ” On The Box: What To Do About My Homosexual Friends” Tony Miano gives the advice that you can always be friends with your homosexual friends.

Friends?

I have to disagree. You cannot, must not, always remain communicative with homosexuals. You do them a great disservice to do so.
I have known homosexuals who did not claim Christianity and I could remain cordial with, but they always understood where my position was on their sin. While with other homosexuals, who claim to be Christians, I have had to reject, BECAUSE they claim to be saved and yet still sin sexually.
It’s clear from Scripture that those who claim Christianity and yet remain in their sin must be rejected by us to Honor God and His Word. And especially sexual deviates… because they will take any engagement with them as authorization of their sin.
The reason for our stance is because deviant sexual sin is a special situation, as Scriptures show, given by God to those who refuse to repent. God will contend with them only so long and then He gives them over to that specific sin (corporately and/or individually). Christians cannot, in good conscience, have anything to do with unrepentant sinners, except to be civil, UNLESS they are those who are struggling to be free. If there is any indication they desire to be right with God you can remain friends, establishing clearly where your position with them lies concerning their continuing in sexual deviance. If there is NO penitence over their deviance then they must be rejected. KINDLY rejected, mind you, with full understanding of how clay your own feet are. But just as YOU must be rejected if you remained unrepentant after hearing the Gospel, so must they.
If God rejects them can you do better?

Really, the point is moot as to whether you can be their friend, because they cannot be yours.
