And there is no quality training going on…
My wife and I saw something we decided to buy the next time we saw it on TV. So, when we saw it again, we called in our order. It was a Divine Appointment.
Asha was the lady who answered and took my order, and, as every customer service representative does nowadays, told me how my call would be recorded “for quality control and training purposes.” Near the end of the call I let Asha know I also would have a question when we were done.
When a telephone agent claims you are being recorded for “quality control and training purposes” you can take it from me they are not quite telling you the truth. You are only being told one of the possible reasons.
I was a VP for an outsourced call center corporation that was #3 in the world at that time. So, if you speak to a telephone operator in the USA, you may well be talking to one of the agents I supported. I know why they record conversations, and it is rarely used for “quality control” or “training purposes.” The recordings are, instead, to compile evidence against you should you attempt to take them to court. God, however, records you for His Courtroom, for your court date, and there will be no 5th Amendment: You will incriminate yourself, over, and over again when you stand before Jesus.
As I speak to people I often hear the excuse of how God is going to weigh our sins on a scale, and there is a good reason many think this. Picture the icon always displayed for justice, and you will see a blindfolded lady holding a set of scales, but that isn’t what Justice is at all. Justice, God Himself, isn’t “blind” and He does not grade on any scale; Everyone is equal before His Bench. Mortal Judges surely don’t grade on a weight scale, so why, then, should the Holy and Just God? When you stand before a civil judge, guilty of crimes, he will not weigh your good against your bad, if he is an honest judge. No, a good judge will not take anything into account except what matters to his judging your crime justly.
NOTE I DID NOT SAY ”FAIRLY?”
My son was giving me the “It’s not fair!” whine when I required he brush his teeth and head to bed. I quickly reminded him there is no such thing as “fair” – only what is Right. To even his young mind that made so much sense he went dead silent, so I explained how God is Just and we DO NOT WANT HIM TO BE FAIR either, lest we should be lost forever. If God was fair no one would be in Heaven. But Jesus did do what was Right, for Love is always “Right”, when it is Just. Thanks be to our Creator, Yahweh’s Mercy triumphs over His Judgment, His compassion wins the day.
So, just as I explained to Asha and my son, you cannot reject God’s Mercy, in the Blood God’s own Son spilled to save you, and expect to be forgiven of your crimes.
Now, initially, I wasn’t going to tell Asha, the Customer Service Representative, anything but my information needed to transact my purchase; I wasn’t going to give her the Gospel. Why? I didn’t expect she would be ready; I figured the call would end soon; I came up with lots of excuses, like I thought she would yell “foul”, like my son had! I was worried…
Oh, okay, I was afraid to bring it up. The Chicken Monster has\d come to play…
Here I was only speaking to a woman on a phone, not even in person, and I was too scared of her rejection to tell her how Jesus wants to rescue her. SHEESH!
But, as we finished, I had had enough time to muster my courage, so I took her through the good person test.
No yelling, no screaming. I’m such a wimp.
Asha repeated the “God is forgiving” placebo to me so many have been fed to ease their minds, troubled over what they know is true. But then she got very quiet as I explained how that it was Jesus Himself who said “Unless you repent you will perish.” Everyone really knows, even six year olds, that Justice must be served.
I finished up by reminding her to read John’s Gospel, as I told her of God’s Mercy available if she but repents and trusts the One and only payment sufficient to pay for her sins, the Savior Jesus. I use the words of Jesus so “Red Letter” people will have no grounds to stand on to reject the Truth of God’s Righteous anger, and Asha certainly stopped justifying her sin when she heard Him.
She then let me know when to expect my order to arrive, and then she thanked me for telling her “my information.” She knew she was being recorded too, and, by her manner, she clearly showed she understood that it wasn’t just by her management…
God is listening, God is remembering and God is waiting.
Asha heard the truth and thanked me for telling her. And I was shamed as I too had forgotten that God records every conversation, hears every word I speak, knows every thought I think, even when I don’t remember. And Jesus is compiling your crimes for “quality control” or “training purposes.”
So, there you have it, don’t let fear stop you, Christian. Acknowledge you are no different from anyone else, and then state the truth to yourself, that, unless someone (like you) tells sinners how to be made right before a Just and Holy God, how then will they ever hear, repent, and trust in Him? How can ANYONE be saved if you don’t open your mouth?
