Freedom…
Hey, I’m reminded to tell you todaythat the reason the Lord has been using the way I drive the speed limit as a lesson in obedience is because it’s indicative of the way Jesus wants us to live our lives.
Don’t push.
That’s the message.
See, Jesus showed me that if I don’t push, don’t get anxious in traffic, I do fine. If I would just relax and drive I do, by nature, that which is right. I drive the speed limit! It’s astounding but it’s true.
This is how the Child of God is wired: To Do Right.
But we don’t believe it sometimes, do we? A little too often, right? We think how we have been is the way we still are. But it’s not true, and that is the message today.
God tells us we are NEW creatures,
that He has made us with NEW desires. We no longer seek to DO Sin any more And if we DO fall to our old nature, if we again believe The Lie, we feel TERRIBLE about it. And we don’t, can’t, let it go until we are right with Him again, do we?
We think how we have been is the way we still are.
Ever ask yourself why? Do you wonder Why it is that you can no longer run to the same excesses you used to without all that crippling guilt?
Because, you’re wired differently now, that’s why. You desire, now, to PLEASE God, those who have surrendered to God’s will for your lives.
Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

If you have trusted in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour you ae NOT the-same-old-person, any more. Now yes, before you say it, yes we all know we can get caught away into the lusts of the flesh we are all privy to trip in to.
We are all still carrying bags from our old lives.
But the unbelievable truth, the Good News, is that WE DON’T HAVE TO.
If you will merely stop pushing, stop tempting yourself, stop violating your own conscience, you will, by Nature, do that which pleases God (those who are His, that is).
“Why do you say that? “Those who are His?” What do you mean by that?!?”
Well, simply put, if you have not made Jesus Lord of your life then you have no idea what I’m talking about.
Only God’s people will understand.
God has changed you, Believer, in to that which will do right, if you will but let yourself do so, Christian. You are a NEW creation, in Christ Jesus, so then STOP living like you’re NOT. Your old nature, our old flesh, lies and tells us that we can’t do anything BUT sin. It lies and says we will never be anything but be one of the Lost. But this is no longer true, if you are Christ’s! You children of God have been bought with a Price and are now no longer obligated to fulfill the lusts of the flesh; You are FREE to obey, once you have obeyed The Gospel. Because you love Him so much, you trust Him with the Salvation of your soul.
Jesus is Lord and YOU are HIS.
So why won’t you let what you know is True take control? You flounder and flail about like you are NOT free. You run in the same ruts thinking you have to, and He waits for you to remember your freedom
How great and beautiful are God’s works that he takes such Fallen creatures and makes us desire to love Him; God gives us the very ability to DO RIGHT, by changing our Natures from Fallen, sinful creatures, to children of God Himself!
That thing you’re struggling with is only a fight because YOU make it so. You need only surrender and let His nature in you take over.
But wow do we wait…
Some take SO LONG, even all our lives, to get to this place of freedom. He wants us to surrender to, to give in to, letting HIS will be done in, and through, us. How long it will take is OUR choice, while we remain on this Earth. But take too long and God WILL end your struggle, for Good. And, yes, that IS the right way to say it. But Jesus wants you to learn here, now. One fine day training will be over and done. It’s for our benefit He lets us remain. He lets YOU participate in His message to this world of Lost Souls, to set more captives free, as YOU were. And we can have that joy WITH Him, if we will let our new natures win.
Its your choice, will you let God win in you?
